Arundel Lido is the proud home to Elevenses the Community Cuppa.

How Elevenses Started

Elevenses launched its first session on the 17th May 2021 (Freedom Day after the Covid-19 lockdown).

Jackey & Nikki met at a dementia information session a few months before. Both proactive, they realised that Arundel was missing something in the Community. Determined to make this work, all barriers were removed to ensure the session was open and accessible to everyone. The Marquee at the Lido became their home.

With no set fee, donations are appreciated to help keep the sessions running. With a car park and a fully accessible site, all we needed now was the Community. The first session started with 28 guests, but word then travelled and now we welcome an average of 50 guests every Monday.

Elevenses has become the heart of Arundel’s Community. Delivering entertainment, activities, support and friendship.

Working with local partners within our Town to bring together local people, identify issues and work to offer support where possible.

What our guests say

“Exceptionally good, and a lifesaver. I wake up and feel low, then remember it’s a Monday and I SMILE knowing I’m going somewhere happy”

“Elvis has made my day, no, my week, no my month, no my year!”

“Its the only day I see ‘real’ people and leave the house”

“I thought it was just going to be women, now my wife and I have new friends”

“Coffee, sunshine & good company”

“Every week you are there for me, with cake, a smile and coffee”

“I love attending to bring mum out, meet other people, socialise and have a chat”

“My first time here, won’t be my last. Coffee, chat, cake and great to see people I know and haven’t seen for years”
